If collecting photographs is a way to collect the world, then Theresa Luisotti has a nice chunk of the planet.

Even with so much to offer, intimacy, minimalism and restraint reign over the gallery’s space. After visitors take a bright yellow set of stairs to the gallery’s one-room exhibition space, they are met with quiet truths of the everyday, the beauty of infrastructure and the melancholy of a captive, singular moment. Recently on Luisotti's walls: Christina Fernandez’s series of crisp, quiet photographs, which offer contemplative examples of art-making, both inside and outside the studio. The Luisotti inventory also boasts impressive gets, including prints by early 20th-century photography giants Walker Evans, Jacques Henri Lartigue and August Sander. —Melissa Lo
