Hunsaker/Schlesinger Fine ArtEye candy that cleanses the palette ![]() At this Bergamot gallery, tasteful eclecticism can be found in familiar forms. From easily digestible abstraction to finely crafted figuration, paintings are the favored at Hunsaker/Schlesinger. Taking advantage of its limited space, the gallery cunningly shows work in the main exhibition space as well as on its office walls; the friendly staff gives patrons plenty of room to look around. A recent show featured two new Otis graduates, Michael Brunswick and Kathrin Burmester. Brunswick’s paintings (large, atmospheric canvases reminiscent of marbled paper) were in the main space and Burmester’s photographs—cut-outs of everyday people pasted onto non-descript gray backgrounds—took over the office. A summertime group show exhibited carefully wrought landscapes, searing portraits and arresting sketches using a panoply of charcoal, pencil and ink. —Melissa Lo![]()
