IkonIconoclasm never looked so good ![]() The size of this Bergamot gallery’s space might seem small, but sass and brass make this stop a bang for the art-hopper’s buck.A haven for the secondary art market, Kay Richards’s Ikon gives visitors the opportunity to see favorite contemporary artists in a new light, and, thanks to its consultation capacity, the gallery also serves as a touchstone for Hollywood players starting or enhancing art collections. Ikon specializes in works on paper, including prints and drawings, but also keeps on the lookout for quality three-dimensional editions. The work of time-tested contemporary art stars—Warhol, Basquiat, Keith Haring and Ed Ruscha—are regularly exhibited. The solid 2007 summer group show “Seeing through You” gathered smaller works by prominent female artists Barbara Kruger, Yayoi Kusama, Tracy Emin and Jenny Holzer. We like to think of Ikon as the gallery equivalent of a B-sides compendium for artists heating up the market. —Melissa Lo![]()
