Rosamund FelsenHigh concepts, intriguing objects ![]() Conceptual art finds its materials at this Bergamot mainstay. At Rosamund Felsen, visitors are liable to find art that not only hangs on the walls, but that which molds the entire gallery space. The names most prominent in Felsen’s stable are video and performance art pioneer Joan Jonas and feminist artist and UCLA art and art history professor Mary Kelly, but up-and-comers like Karen Liebowitz and Jean Lowe are also sending ripples across the gallery (and the rest of the art world). A recent exhibition by Renée Petropoulos found visitors navigating between wooden benches and tables, excessively striated paintings, intricately woven rugs and headphones hanging from the ceiling, all in the name of geographic and physical dislocation. —Melissa Lo![]()
