The Number 21

So, news of another restaurant opening Downtown isn't an Earth-shattering story lately, but a new one on the 21st story of a bank building, complete with 360-degree patio, certainly caught our eye. Coming in June: Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant, which (along with Elevate Lounge) takes up 14,500 square feet of skyline-viewing space at 811 Wilshire Boulevard. Chef Kenny Yamada, who has worked with star chefs like Katsuya Uechi and Wolfgang Puck, has created a menu that will include sashimi inside a hollowed avocado, and a "sweet scallop present" that's a gift-box-ish egg filled with tempura-battered scallops and wine-infused Jell-o. We have no pics yet, but the website has a nice animated preview.
