The Scott Heard Around the World
After Rick Owens decamped to Paris in 2003, LA was left with one designer who could take avant-garde fashion by the reins: Jeremy Scott. Our first encounter with Scott was in 2003 when he staged a pseudo-fashion show at what was formerly The Palace in Hollywood. Instead of a runway show, he had models Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera walk around in pink gowns paired with platform wedge sneakers while he showed a short film he made for the collection. It was different, just like his wacky designs that are inspired by things like fast food and 50s iconography. This year he celebrates 10 years as a designer; LA Weekly takes a trip down memory lane with Scott in its current issue. Though Scott chooses to show in New York, he still calls the Hollywood Hills home and can be seen around town with LA hipster figures Mark "Cobrasnake" Hunter, Cory Kennedy and Devon Aoki.

Care Bears and camouflage were Scott's themes for Spring 07
