Diplo Says The Party Doesn't Have To Stop At 2AM
Los Angeles got a lesson in Diplo domination last week.  After performing at Crash Mansion on Thursday night, master DJ/Producer Wes Pentz aka Diplo, took L.A. nightlife by storm last Friday.  The Philly-based, southern-raised Diplo made a cameo at not one, not two, but three parties throughout the night.

After lamenting the fact that we missed seeing the M.I.A. producer/ex-bf making his rounds at PYT and at the Ass & Titties party at The Echoplex, we decided to check out Mike B and Nate Day spin at The White Slave Trade for "The Official Afterparty Of All Parties" presented by Nate Day and PolyMono.  There's nothing like free Vodka and PBR until 6 in the AM to ease the pain of missing Diplo not once, but twice in one night. 

We walked in just in time to grab some free vodka and to catch the end of Mike B's set, where he was geeking out to a Keyshia Cole "Shoulda Let You Go" mash-up.  As we were grooving to Keyshia, who did we see on deck hovering over Mike B?  None other than Diplo.  

Diplo's hour-plus set was marked with his signature Baile funk, with a little M.I.A. "Paper Planes" and brand-new M.I.A. for good measure.  For us homegrown best-coasters, he gave us the hits we always crave but never get to hear anymore in this electro-heavy scene - Ice Cube, Snoop, and The Pharcyde jams kept the crowd grinding on the tiny dancefloor. 

I guess the third party is the charm.  Because we were lazy patient, we got to avoid the crowds at PYT and The Echoplex and were treated to an intimate set from our favorite DJ, some brand-new M.I.A. and free vodka...all included in the $5 cover.   Yeah, we're a pretty cheap date.
