Celebrity scenester and flaming plane escaper DJ AM was found dead today in the SoHo section of New York City according to the AP. He was 36 years old.

DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein, was discovered on the seventh floor of an apartment building -- TMZ reports that a friend called police when he was unable to make contact after a number of days.

Goldstein's uncomfortably prophetic final tweet was sent on Tuesday afternoon and reads, "New York, New York big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain't always what it seems."

Investigators are looking into the possibility of a drug overdose; early reports do not suspect foul play. He was scheduled to perform at the Las Vegas club Rain on Friday night.
