The Dead Daisies recently announced they'd be joining this summer's Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival along with Alice In Chains, Jane's Addiction, Coheed and Cambria and Circa Survive. The Daisies will headline the COLDCOCK Herbal Whiskey Showcase Stage powered by Ernie Ball.  Now the band is ready to release their self-titled debut album on August 13 via Spitfire Music.

The touring outfit of The Dead Daisies is vocalist Jon Stevens (Noiseworks, INXS), lead guitarist Richard Fortus (Guns N' Roses, Thin Lizzy), rhythm guitarist David Lowy (Mink, The Angels), bassist Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, Whitesnake), drummer Alex Carapetis (Nine Inch Nails, Julian Casablancas) and keyboardist Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses).  First single, Lock'N'Load,” was co-written by and features iconic guitarist Slash and is currently available at iTunes. Accompanying the track is a short film (with two different endings), produced by Melbourne-based production company, Oh Yeah Wow (Gotye, Clubfeet, Aloe Blacc).  Check out the “Live” and “Die” clips at their YouTube and feel free to post.

For The Dead Daisies, it's all about the songs, but it's also all about having fun. It may be a simple formula but that's why it works, and that's why the band are such a powerful musical collective – a band of brothers pumping out powerful, anthemic songs served up with that devious sense of mischief which has always lived at the heart of rock'n'roll.

It was undeniable as soon as guitarist David Lowy and singer-songwriter/Noiseworks front man, Jon Stevens, first got together. Within a few hours they'd written a dozen songs and knew they had that most vital of ingredients in any creative enterprise – chemistry – infused in their collective musical genes. Riffing around the kind of music they both love – classic late ‘70s early ‘80s hard rock, in that soulful Bad Company meets Foreigner via The Faces kind of vibe – big choruses, powerful melodies, strong hooks – the pair then thought about who could best capture the sounds in their heads.

Stevens had previously recorded with LA-based engineer, producer and multi-instrumentalist John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, Switchfoot), and so the pair headed over to Wishbone Studios in North Hollywood, and finished the debut Dead Daisies album in just two intensely creative weeks.

The Dead Daisies join the UPROAR Festival on the heals of their March Australian tour with ZZ Top and Australian and New Zealand dates with Aerosmith this past April. A free 4-song EP download, entitled Man Overboard (Spitfire Music) from The Dead Daisies is available now on the UPROAR website www.rockstaruproar.com/dead-daises-dl.
