It was a weekend to remember, as thousands of music lovers descended on New Orleans to help celebrate the 45th Annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at the Fair Grounds Race Course from April 25 to 27, 2014. Held over two weekends, the Jazz Fest celebrates all kinds of music, from traditional jazz, gospel and blues to rock, country, rap, hip hop, Zydeco and more.
The first sunny weekend featured everyone from Friday's Santana, the Avett Brothers and Public Enemy performances to Saturday's Phish, Robin Thicke and the Branford Marsalis Quintet to Sunday's Eric Clapton finale that packed the place from stem to stern. It was a weekend to remember; and there's more to come from May 1 to 4, when Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band lead another all-star lineup to finish out the festival. Here's a look at some of the best moments of weekend one.
