Mary Hart wasn’t at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday night just to emcee a show that honored Motown founder Berry Gordy with a humanitarian award from the Cedars-Sinai Heart Foundation.
 
The “Entertainment Tonight” host also wanted to chat about her controversial on-air scoop that Angelina Jolie had given birth to twins. Hart’s not quite ready to admit that she might have been duped and delivered the news prematurely late last month.
 
“We still don’t know if she’s had those babies or not and until we do we won’t retract our story,” Hart said before telling jokes about Gordy’s golf to an audience that included Kirk Douglas, Debbie Allen and Billy Dee Williams. “I don’t know yet that we’ve made a mistake.”
 
“I hope that the babies were born when we said they were and that we had our facts straight,” added Hart, who engaged in some “girl talk” with Angie during the “Kung Fu Panda” premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival in mid-May. “I have never retracted a story in 26 years but all I can do now is wait and see.”
