Spywitness 2.6.08On February 07, 2008 We're all adults here... SPYWITNESS 2/608 An under-the-weather Jamie Lee Curtis missed introducing nominees and winners - including Julie Christie, Michael Moore, Ruby Dee, Hal Holbrook, Gena Rowlands, Rob Reiner and Julian Schnabel - at the seventh annual AARP "Movies for Grownups Awards" at the Hotel Bel-Air on Monday. Last-minute sub Dana Delany joined co-emcee John Cleese for truffle gratin and chanterelle mushrooms before presenting awards to "The Bucket List," "The Savages," "Hairspray," "The Namesake," "Sicko" and "The Darjeeling Limited." Things ran smoothly, but Curtis would have enjoyed hearing provocative cracks and comments made by some of the over-50 winners. "There are powerful films being made now about things that we have got to deal with," said Christie, mentioning "Sicko," "Rendition" and "In the Valley of Elah." "It's great that these difficult films are being made, and I hope they go on being made." "I'm happy to receive this award from AARP because your organization plays a critical and crucial role in making sure everyone is covered in this country," added Moore. And Jamie Lee would have loved to see all the live goldfish in bowls on tables throughout the room. After all, they were a tribute to "A Fish Called Wanda." >JOEL STRATTE-McCLURE/SPYWITNESS
