`College Road Trip' swings for the fences

That was the buzz at the El Capitan on Monday night when the silent but smiling home-run king walked the red carpet before the arrival of "College Road Trip" stars Martin Lawrence and Raven-Symoné.

Bonds, accompanied by wife Liz and daughter Aisha, snapped pictures with his camera and signed autographs. But the trio ignored the press before taking a back-row seat.

"Parents and their children will definitely want to make a college road trip after seeing this," said Raven-Symoné, 22, during the after-party as kids played road trip bingo and visited Pork Place to create stuffed replicas of Albert, the film's magic pig, in the Hollywood & Highland complex.

Bonds had his own review of the family comedy.

"I don't think her mom will let our daughter, who just turned 9, go on a road trip quite yet," he joked during the party.

"But the film is supposed to encourage parents to trust enough in their children to let them go," added Lawrence, separated from Bonds by a table centerpiece made of candy.

And what about his rumored acting career?

"No way!" Bonds said.

Maybe he's already had enough hits.
