KROQ announcers in bright orange jailbird jumpsuits were the most appropriately dressed guests at the premiere of “Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay.”
 
“I wish I’d thought of dressing in orange,” said Brandon Routh when he arrived at the Cineramadome on Thursday night. “The evening’s all about Guantanamo, right?”
 
Not quite. Jason Biggs, Roselyn Sanchez, Cheryl Hines, Ashley Tisdale, Rex Lee and others in the audience also discovered the connection between North Korea and al-Qaida and were exposed to KKK rallies, Texas whorehouses and presidential retreats.
 
“Stoners were the only ones who completely understood ‘Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle,’” recalled Kal Penn after he hugged Routh and greeted co-stars John Cho, Neil Patrick Harris, Danneel Harris and Eric Winter. “This might have a wider audience.”
 
But Penn said nobody should take the portrayal of fumbling TSA, Homeland Security and government officials seriously.
 
 “What should amaze everyone,” Penn explained during the packed after party at The Green Door, “is that we live in a country where you can still make an outrageous satire without getting thrown in jail or shot.”
