John Krasinski is replacing George Clooney as Hollywood’s sexiest bachelor

The “We Want John” screams on Hollywood Boulevard at the premiere of “Leatherheads” confirmed the latest street buzz. John Krasinski is replacing George Clooney as Hollywood’s sexiest bachelor.

Clooney, who directed “Leatherheads,” insists he wanted his 28-year-old co-star/successor to look especially handsome in the romantic comedy. At 46, George contends he’s ready to abdicate because of steady girlfriend Sarah Larson, who accompanied him to Monday’s premiere and after party at Hollywood and Highland.

“John’s almost ready to take over but needs to have his ears tucked first,” Clooney explained before entering a ballroom where the décor included 1920s period furniture. “With a bit of plastic surgery he’s in and I’m out.”

Colleagues on “The Office” contend Krasinski, who’s been on numerous “world’s sexiest men” lists, is ready for the mission.

“I’ve given him all my secrets about being a sex symbol in Hollywood,” disclosed Rainn Wilson.

“I thought he’d be the next Tom Hanks but replacing George Clooney isn’t too shabby,” added Jenna Fischer.

Krasinski downplayed his selection with typical sex-symbol shyness.

“People are making a huge mistake!” he said as Cindy Crawford and Renee Zellweger looked him over. “Long live George!”
