What was all the screaming about before the premiere of “What Happens in Vegas” in Westwood on Thursday night?
A shout out pitted white-shirted “Team Ashton” fans against red-shirted “Team Cameron” supporters. And the group that cheered the loudest got into the premiere.
Both squads practiced their high-pitched screeching when Eva Longoria, Vince Vaughn and Bai Ling arrived on the red carpet. But the decibel level rose appreciably when Cameron Diaz, who would make a great Lakers Girl, and Ashton Kutcher got into the act.
“Is your team warmed up yet?” Kutcher asked after Cameron led a roaring cheer.
“Was that it?” Diaz quipped after Ashton’s team got an equally high score on the shout-a-meter. “Is that all you’ve got?
Many on the red carpet declared an alliance with one team or another. Bai Ling, Michelle Krusiec and Lake Bell were in Cameron’s camp while Dennis Farina supported Ashton “because he’s a Cubs fan.” Others hedged their bets.
“I’m for Cameron in body, but Ashton in spirit,” said Rob Corddry.
Who won when the cheering stopped?
Ashton and Cameron declared it a draw and hoarse members of both teams learned “What Happens in Vegas.”
