Sarah Jessica Parker/Carrie Bradshaw put a blossoming flower pot on her head and knocked the socks off England during the raucous London premiere of “Sex and the City: The Movie” in Leicester Square on Monday night.

The energized crowd outside the Odeon Theatre screamed “We Love Carrie” as though she was their favorite soccer team. And the event made the front pages of most British dailies, including The Telegraph that claimed the garden-inspired headgear, designed by Irish hat sculptor Philip Treacy, was a tribute to next week’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon all contended that the European premieres (they hit Berlin next) would be bested by the hoopla at Radio City Music Hall on May 27.

“We’re not snubbing New York,” Davis explained as Kelly Rowland and Kimberly Stewart strolled by. “We’re saving the best for last.”

Maybe that’s why Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, who plays Carrie’s young assistant, and “Mr. Big” Chris Noth skipped the London opening. But they missed the chance to sample the Carrie Cosmopolitan and Samantha Seduction cocktails at the after party at Old Billingsgate on the Thames River.
