Why is Ryan Seacrest, the Details April cover boy, considered one of the magazine's 22 hot Mavericks? Is he really one of the country's "most innovative thinkers in the worlds of media, entertainment, design and technology"?

"American Idol" judges Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell don't think so.

"He paid to be on the cover," the duo insisted at a party celebrating the Mavericks at a Beverly Hills hillside mansion on Thursday night.

Seacrest isn't sure what impact the Maverick tag will have on his social life.

"I'm thrilled with the photo, but it didn't get me a date for tonight," Seacrest said as he mingled with David Spade, Don Cheadle, Kirsten Cavallari and Perez Hilton. "But let's see if I leave with anyone."

He went home alone.
