Sure, there are nachos and hot wings on the menu, but there is also something called a buffalo dip which involves chips, and little casserole dish filled with melted blue and cheddar cheese, chicken and barbecue sauce. It’s so good, we almost licked the plate clean. Honestly.
There are even some salads like the baby spinach one with wild mushrooms, bacon, goat cheese, grilled onion and tomato in a white balsamic and shallot vinaigrette, but be manly and go right for one of the hearty sandwiches or entrees.
The meaty buffalo hotdog with tangy sauerkraut and Swiss cheese on a pretzel roll is robust and filling.
The delicious tuna melt on grilled sourdough with tarragon, grilled onion, roasted tear drop tomatoes, fennel, citrus aioli and cheddar remains just shy of fancy food.
You can also get a corned beef reuben sandwich on rye, or fish and chips made with tilapia and accompanied with dill tartar sauce, or beef short ribs braised in a porter beer reduction with homemade mashed potatoes.
We also recommend trying the fries, the baked beans and the grilled veggies.
Now that the food is out of the way, let’s talk about the real reason to come here: the beer.
There are about 30 varieties on tap ranging from light lagers to sturdy stouts, and even one that tastes like a fine cognac.
The best part is, the beer list is always changing, so round up a group of friends and order a variety of liquid libations. The friendly staff is always ready to offer a recommendation, and you’ll want to try a whole mess of options as you while away an evening in this delightful little gastropub.
