It's no accident that Poleci cocktail dresses mingle with loud Heatherette tops or that Louis Verdad slacks rub up against La Rok bubble dresses. Styled with genius, the boutique pulls off an anything-but-cluttered look. Accented with whites and oranges, Krisol's style icons (according to its MySpace page) include Pam Grier, Farrah Fawcett and Deborah Harry. Fittingly, big hair goes with everything at Krisol, from rompers to work coveralls to sexy/adorable animal-print bathing suits by Shay Todd. Menswear is high-octane Justin Timberlake—an array of straight-from-Japan skinny ties, aggressive graphic tees from Artful Dodger to Timberlake's own denim label, William Rast. Further obscure blue-jean brands include: Cassette (athletic and slim), Mink (curved pockets that slim badonkadonks) and Stronghold (suspenders attached). Young designers like Anzevino and Florence share rack real estate with veterans like John Varvatos' collaboration with Converse. Krisol boasts that it's a fusion of sartorial personalities. And, hey, if fusion restaurants can work, why not clothing stores, too? —Lien Ta
