Publik Park excels at providing clothing for girls with multiple personalities. If she's desperate to hit the clubs, we suggest the bronze-sequined tank and tarantula fedora. If she needs sensible but stylish pants for the office, there's John Varvatos for Converse. But for flirtin' and romancin', she had better attack the Calypso-colorful frocks by Glam Vintage Soul or the slippery-to-the-touch Voom dresses. A modest rack of menswear reveals mostly button-downs, best worn with gelled hair and perfect for a night of scoring numbers at the latest It club. Because the style is admittedly not very LA (these articles hail mostly from the Big Apple and European cities like Copenhagen), Publik Park is filling a niche that the city needs—an outlet for women and men that are dying to stand out among cloned Angelenos. Thankfully unpretentious, it's a boutique that is providing street glamour but also showcasing thriving new designers like Bread and Butter and Beach Bunny, who are bound to rule any minute now. And did we mention there's green grass? Again fake, but it feels good on bare feet. —Lien Ta
