This store is for grown-ups still itching to release inner demons via their feet. We think of Evelyn Ungvari, the buyer and supreme personality behind Diavolina, as one of the cool kids, who always had the best shoes—boots before boots were cool, flats before flats were cool, and so on. One day, she decided to share her high-heeled wisdom and opened Diavolina's first (and darker, and more intimidating) incarnation on La Brea Avenue. As Ungvaris taste evolved, she says she sought a more modern and less gaudy feel for Diavolina's second incarnation on Robertson Boulevard. This brightly lit, ultra-sophisticated destination feels like the giant living room of the super-nice, super-rich girl that Barbie only wished she were. Shoes are the main attraction at Diavolina, but the leopard-print carpet and clothes on the racks arent too shabby either—Anna Sui, Shareen or T-Bags, anyone? Skinny jeans from Sass and Bide, Tsubi and J Brand fight for attention with belts, bags and the most bitchin collection of jewelry this side of the Beverly Hills-adjacent border. —Lien Ta
