Lit by dazzling chandelier spheres, the air perfected by warm candles and fresh-cut flowers, ecookie is reminiscent of Anthropologie but without the ugly stuff. Delicate, romantic tops and dresses from Nanette Lepore, Corey Lynn Calter, Tibi, and Alice & Olivia flood the forefront of the boutique. Beside the Buddhist demigod figure (one of the many Asian dabbles in the shop) is the jewelry wing: Clear cases filled with vintage gems and new pieces made to look vintage. The rear of the boutique proudly boasts a men's lounge, albeit a girlishly decorated one (love that European wall covering!), which, of course, includes the Boyfriend Couch with a perfect view of the fitting rooms. Thongs by Honeydew and Hanky Panky are also nearby, but men don't really notice thanks to the beer and GQ magazines provided. Owner Elaine Francisco, the "e" of ecookie and a former accessories editor at YM magazine, not only knows her Botkier bags from her Bulgas, but she also knows how to whip up a cozy hangout for her shoppers. Complimentary wine is served seven nights a week. —Lien Ta
