Sprinkled with the best of Doo.Ri and Proenza Schouler, Presse looks like the boudoir of a fashion maven with old money—perhaps the Sofia Coppola version of Marie Antoinette. Immaculately blessed with frill, the garments look sinfully untouchable, but because of highly desirable fabrics like silk and cashmere, you touch and you make a case to buy. Seven-hundred-dollar garments are humanized by cotton favorites from Clu, jeans from Habitual and Rag and Bone, plus adorable bikinis from Haverhill. In spite of its lean toward luxury, Presse introduces plenty of casual into an otherwise fancy get-up. Flats by Devi Kroell are a good start before moving on to skinny patent-leather belts and dainty kerchiefs (appropriate for French women with baguettes hanging out of their bicycle baskets). Our favorite: jewelry by Lulu Frost, who uses vintage numerals from New York's Plaza Hotel as oversized necklace charms on thick gold chains. Presse is for the kind of woman who tries really hard to make men think, "Wow, I bet she just rolls out of bed looking like that." —Lien Ta
