This treasure trove sells perfect little dresses appropriate for a hip rage at The Echo or a brunch date at Joan's on Third. Sielian Lie, the sugar-sweet owner, first made her mark at the Melrose Trading Post. Lucy Liu and Keira Knightley became insta-fans of her booth; competing vintage vendors nearby weren't exactly asking Sielian out for shaved-ice rendezvous. She soon ditched the imminent flea-market rumble and took her innate gift for selecting frocks—so shockingly Marc Jacobs-ish, Chloe-esque and Anna Sui-like, all from the '50s, '60s and '70s—to a boutique space on Main Street in Santa Monica. She has since relocated to Melrose Avenue, where she and her one-of-a-kind gems feel more at ease. Each dress is dry-cleaned and mended, if needed, then placed on racks in color-coded fashion. Worthy of an A-plus in rummaging, Sielian has mastered the laborious task of feeding our fashion bellies close to refusal. —Lien Ta
