Magic Castle
If you found the Oscars lacking in magic, try an Awards Show where the thrills are guaranteed: The Academy of Magical Arts Inc. 41st Annual Awards, honoring today's most mystical and innovative illusionists and presented at the Avalon Hollywood (1735 N. Vine, Hollywood, CA 900280) on Sunday, March 8.

Host Neil Patrick Harris will join a slew of celebrity presenters including Tony-Winner Kristen Chenoweth, Emmy-Winner Jeff Probst, and Oscar-Writer Bruce Villanch. The ceremony will honor this year's wizards (er, winners) with high tech visual and multi-media presentations, in addition to live performances. Expect the unexpected- seldom-seen magical and variety acts in addition to musical entertainment.

Tickets (priced from $50-$250) include complimentary food and cocktails, and an After Party where you can mingle with mystics and muggles alike in any one of Avalon's three uniquely themed nightclubs.

The ceremony begins at 7pm follwing a pre-show cocktail reception at 6pm, and the party lasts until 11:45.

The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc is a non-profit social order of nearly 6000 members devoted to the advancement and promotion of the art of magic.
