Finally, some decent Thai food outside of Thai Town.
There may not be much to look at in this humble little family-owned restaurant, but the food is hearty and fresh, the service is friendly and fast, and the customers are always congenial and close-packed.
There is even a little patio out back to enjoy the spicy curries, or house specialties like Pla Ka Ree Pu, a steamed fish filet stuffed with crab and served in a spicy yellow curry sauce, and the Nam Tok, which is slices of grilled top sirloin tossed with shallots, scallions, cilantro and rice powder in a spicy lime vinaigrette.
Of course, you'll also find the ubiquitous Thai menu items like Pad Thai, Lard Na, and Crab Fried Rice.
There is also a "Green" section to the menu, with salads like the "Som Tum" with shredded green papaya mixed with lime juice, chili, palm sugar, tamarind juice, tomatoes, green beans, ground peanuts, shrimp, and garlic.
Hit the $5.95 lunch special, or try one of the "burritos" like the one with tuna curry. We dare you.
