Monthly Hatchi Guest Chef Series Debuts At BreadBar

This new monthly series that will recur on the last Thursday of every month, will kick off with Chef Nori (formerly at Charlie Trotter's and Tetsuya) hosting guest chef Debbie Lee, a finalist from "The Next Food Network Star." The concept is simple and cheap, 8 courses for $8 each. This month's menu is a Korean and Southern-inspired theme.

Patina Catering Brings BBQ to Pasadena POPS

FIG launches "Kegs and Eggs" Sunday Brunch

Ruby's Shake Shack Opens June 29

This new all-American diner is scheduled to open at the end of the Malibu Pier next week, just in time for summer. Featured dishes include a Guacamole Burger, Parmesan Bleu Fries and a Peanut Butter Cup Shake. The grand opening party on Sunday will offer free burgers, fries and sample shakes for all, along with live surf band music. Opening Party June 28 (11am-4pm)

Chef Stephane Beaucamp Returns To Vermont Restaurant

Now that Mark's on La Cienega has closed its doors and merged with Vermont, they are bringing back Vermont's original executive chef to blend the best dishes from both menus, including a weekly "Dish It Out Mondays" menu special starting this week.

Chef Conny Andersson Departs AK Restaurant + Bar

On the other end of the spectrum, and the city, Swedish native Conny Andersson is departing the restaurant he opened only months ago on Abbot Kinney, AK, due to creative differences with the owners. He cooked his last meal there on Saturday, June 20, and now Casey Lane of ClarkLewis in Portland, Oregon, has been tapped to assume the exec chef toque. No word on his exact start date yet.
