Moods of Norway, a Norwegian line (duh) of "happy clothes for happy people" is opening its very first US flagship in the happiest place on earth...Beverly Hills.
Taking over the former Madison space on Robertson Boulevard, Moods of Norway is a 2,500 square-foot space designed by ex-pro skateboarder-turned-interior designer Scott Oster, who has taken a cue from Moods cute and whimsical aesthetic and blended it with American and Norwegian sensibilities. Wall murals of spectacular fjords, log cabin-esque wood paneling, astro turf and a gold-hued tractor (circa 1949) are just a few of the quirky--and utterly adorable--features the Kitson crowd will soon be enjoying.
At tonight's opening fete, jetsetting designers/owners Simen Staalnacke, Peder Børresen and Stefan Dahlkvist--who will likely roll up tooting "La Cucaracha" in the official Moods of Norway baby blue stretch limo--are having real snow shipped in for the evening.
Though the soiree is not open to the public, if you're in the neighborhood keep a lookout for cross country skiers sliding down Robertson. Moving forward, stay tuned for Moods of Norway's upcoming, reoccurring weekend events, like Waffle and Champagne Saturdays and occasional paper airplane contests.
