Robert Downey Jr. was in full ham mode on "Sherlock Holmes" red carpet at the Lincoln Hall in NYC last night. Wearing an genre-appropriate tweed three-piece suit, he hugged and kissed costars, had his tie adjusted by leading lady Rachel McAdams and reminded us why he is the most loved, if not unexpectedly so, action hero right now. Because he loves it.

Jude Law kept it simple in a plain gray blazer and black scarf, as did McAdams, who looked pretty (as usual), but frankly was wearing a rather plain Jasmine Di Milo bustier with black wideleg pants (though kudos to her for wearing pants instead of a dress).

But the real surprise was Blake Lively, who by some accounts stole the show (despite the fact that she's not even in the film), sexing it up in a very, very short black lace Dolce & Gabbana dress.
