Originally built as an outdoor venue, in 1982 the Gibson Amphitheatre was converted into an indoor theatre, with improved acoustics and an entirely remodeled design. Today the Gibson is the third largest mid-sized venue in California, with a seating capacity of nearly 7,000. Since it's part of Universal's CityWalk, the Gibson is surrounded by dozens of cool restaurants and bars, making it one of the better venues to see a concert. High profile music acts like Ozzy Osbourne will often play the Gibson when they come to L.A., while awards shows such as the MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards are frequently hosted there. Here are a few things you should know before visiting the Gibson Amphitheatre.
