New bars always seem to be popping up in North Hollywood. So whether you call it NoHo, or refer to everything over the hill as The Valley, look no further than LA.com for your guide to the best happy hours in North Hollywood. Or should I say The Valley?
No Bar: It may feel like North Hollywood's version of a Silver Lake bar, with people wearing skinny jeans and red Chuck Taylors, and a jukebox blasting out classic rock tunes. Heck, even the name kind of sounds like a hipsters only club! When it comes to happy hour, however, No Bar is the place everyone in North Hollywood likes to go (even the non-hipsters). Happy hour is everyday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and includes wine for $5, well drinks for $4, and PBRs for $2.

Bar One: If you're a serious beer drinker, then you'll love the wide selection of craft and specialty beers that Bar One has to offer. But aside from lots of great beers, Bar One also has a fantastic selection of wines, all of which are under $35 a bottle. Maybe that's why it's called a Beer & Wine Parlour (I wonder…). So here's the deal on happy hour – it's seven days a week from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and includes daily specials on their beer and wine. And if you happen to pop by on a Monday, you'll definitely want to try their mystery craft beer for $3. It never disappoints!

Tonga Hut Tiki Lounge: It may have been around since Eisenhower was President, but the Tonga Hut always seems to be coming up with new and exciting ways to make their famous tropical drinks taste even more… tropical! No wonder it's L.A.'s oldest and most respected tiki bar. Even better is the fact that they host happy hour twice a day, every day. The early happy hour, happening 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., features PBRs for $2 and well drinks for $3. Late happy hour, happening from midnight until 2 a.m., features $2 off all tiki cocktails.
12808 Victory Blvd., 91606; 818-769-0708
Mucho Mas: Sure their authentic Mexican food is outstanding. But Monday thru Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Mucho Mas has happy hour, where all of their margaritas are $3.50. Oh did I mention that the margaritas might just be just as good, if not better, than the food? Well, now you can say you have two reasons to go there. Bonus?

Big Wangs: The Big Wangs in North Hollywood has been around for a few years. So when it comes to things like happy hour, you can rest assured that they know what they're doing. It happens every night from 10 p.m. to close, and features discounts on beer, well drinks, and their famous wings.
5300 Lankershim Blvd., 91601; 818-985-2249
Brickyard Pub: You probably already know it's a pub (perhaps the name gives it a way?). But I bet you were unaware that once you venture off into the back area, the Brickyard Pub turns into an upscale pool hall. So in a sense, it's kind of like two different bars merged into one. That alone is worth a trip to the Brickyard

Skinny's Lounge: What can you expect from a place called Skinny's Lounge? Well it's a dance club, a place to see film events, burlesque shows, live music, and just about anything else amusing enough to be deemed “live entertainment.” But that's not even the best part, because every Monday thru Friday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. all drinks at Skinny's Lounge are $2 off. They also have midnight happy every Monday thru Wednesday from midnight to close. So now you know the skinny… no pun intended.

Tiki No: How many tiki lounges are in North Hollywood? That's like asking how many out-of-worker actors are in Hollywood. So what separates a place like Tiki No from the rest? Well it's quite simple – tropical drinks! Take for instance the catnip, which is a fan favorite at Tiki No. Not only does it taste like you're eating a little slice of Hawaiian sun (also known as coconut), but it's also loaded with rum. So be warned, more than one may cause slight dizziness. Happy hour is daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and includes half-off specialty cocktails (including the catnip!), well drinks for $5, and beer for $3.25.

The Good Nite: It may be tagged as a dive bar, but The Good Nite is anything but. In fact, it's probably the only place in North Hollywood that has fire-breathing bartenders! If I had to classify it, I'd say The Good Nite is more of an upscale lounge that just happens to have karaoke every night of the week. That'll work. As far as happy hour goes, well drinks are $3 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekdays, with kamikazes going for $3 on Sunday. You can also get special “mystery drinks” for cheap on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Scene: Aside from free popcorn – which is always a bonus – The Scene is one of the better spots in The Valley for watching sports and drinking cheap beer. The crowd is always unpretentious, there's always plenty of places to sit, and the super-friendly bartenders/owners, Doc and Bonnie, make all customers feel like they're part of the family. So I guess it would make perfect sense that they also have a really great happy hour too, huh? It happens daily from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and includes well drinks for $2.50, with domestic beers going for $2. Did I mention there's free popcorn?

The Eclectic: They may be known for having a diverse dinner menu, but their happy hour's not too bad either. It happens Monday thru Friday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and includes draft beers and house wines for $4, martinis going for $6. Appetizers like bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, and chicken skewers are also on the happy hour menu. They start at $4. You can check out more of The Eclectic's menu options by visiting their website.

Pat's Cocktail Lounge: How does a dive bar achieve legendary status among its regulars? By having three rotating happy hour specials each and every day! So let's just get to the good stuff, shall we. Mondays thru Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., domestic drafts and well drinks are $2.50; a sandwich and beer combo is $7 every weekday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Mondays thru Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., all their tacos – including steak, chicken, and pork – are $1.50. Still not enough? Well from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays, Tecate, well drinks, and Pabst Blue Ribbons are all $2. Hmm… by my count, that's four great reasons to visit Pat's.

The Eclectic: Happy hour at The Eclectic happens daily from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and features discounts on appetizers, like their chicken potstickers, rib-eye steak skewers, and fried mushrooms, as well as drinks. Cocktails during happy hour are $6, with glasses of wine going for $4. And if you happen to pop in on a Saturday or Sunday morning, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., then you can take part in their Weekend Brunch. For $22 you can drink unlimited champagne and mimosas, along with your choice of brunch entrees, which include omelets, frittatas, huevos rancheros, and much more. You can see a complete version of The Eclectic’s Weekend Brunch menu on its website.
