On Sunday an estimated 3,000 bikers rumbled from Glendale to Castaic Lake for the 29th annual Love Ride charity event to benefit the USO a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops.
Rock and roll echoed off the mountainside and shook the waves of Castaic Lake as bikers were treated to some mighty classic tunes with rocking blues legends George Thorogood & The Destroyers and blues-boogie rock band Canned Heat.
Canned Heat opened the set with grooving renditions of their classic hits, that where a bit more mellow yet rocking just the same.
George Thorogood and the Destroyers were amazingly loud and rockin'.
Thorogood,62, has amazing vitality and owned the stage with a big, wide smile and all around charm. Thorogood 's 90-minute set included "Bad to the Bone," and "One bourbon one scotch one beer" and a few tunes from his new album, "2120 South Michigan Ave." .
A quick celebrity press conference included, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, "Terminator" actor,Robert Patrick, actor Lorenzo Lamas and other celebrities and Love Ride founder Oliver Shokouh, owner of Harley-Davidson of Glendale. Love Ride Honorary Grand Marshall Peter Fonda was not seen at Castaic, but we sure were on the look out!More information on Love Ride
