On any day of the week, you can spend hundreds of dollars on dinner at one of L.A.'s fine dining establishments. Or you can just wait until Tuesday and gorge on $1 tacos all day. Yeah, option two sounds a lot tastier.  Here are the best Taco Tuesday specials happening in Los Angeles.

La Playita Siete Mares: If you live in Silver Lake, you're already familiar with La Playita Siete Mares (which translates to “the little beach of the seven seas”). Their $1 fish tacos have been consistently ranked among L.A.'s best, and people in Silver Lake swear by them. But aside from just tacos (they make a pretty decent shrimp taco as well), La Playita is also known for their crispy fish and shrimp tostadas. They're also a buck. Who said nothing ever good came on a Tuesday?

El Toro Cantina: OK maybe you're a little dull and prefer the standard chicken or steak taco. Well El Toro Cantina has those (yawn!) and about a dozen more! Some of the more exotic tacos on El Toro's $1 Tuesday menu, includes blackened chicken, tuna tartar, and coconut crispy shrimp tacos. They even have a baby back ribs taco, which tastes just as good as it sounds.

Don Chuy's: Just to be fair, the tacos at Don Chuy's in Culver City aren't a buck on Tuesdays. Now that you've gotten over the initial shock, it's probably a good idea to tell you they're ninety-nine cents. The tacos might be a little small, but they're loaded with tons of carne asada, chicken, even chorizo. Four to six should fill you up. And while you're at it, why not was down your ninety-nine cent taco with a $2 Tecate? Yep, beers are two bucks on Tuesdays.

Fiesta Martin Mexican Grill: Need a Taco Tuesday spot near LAX? Fiesta Martin Mexican Grill has got you covered. The dollar tacos come with your standard meats like beef and chicken, and are served on fresh hard shell tortillas that just came out of the oven. Their tacos come with a variety of condiments too, like avocado sauce, cilantro and hot carrots. And as an added bonus, Fiesta Martin's has some of the best chips and salsa around. Who doesn't love delicious freebies?

Cabo Cantina: Okay, I know what you're thinking. How can I add Cabo Cantina to the list when its Taco Tuesday deal is $4.95 for all you can eat tacos? Well when you factor in that the average person usually can eat about five tacos, it all balances out. Now if you're the type of person that can wolf down a baker's dozen in one sitting, well then, you've definitely come to the right place. Hmm… maybe Quarter Taco Tuesdays is a better name?

Candela Taco Bar & Lounge: In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that the tacos here are not a buck on Tuesdays. However, Candela Taco Bar & Lounge does host all types of deals on Wednesdays – including their out of this world tacos for a dollar. That being said, we’ll give them a pass (just this once). As far as their tacos go, you’ll have several options to choose from, including beef, chicken, pork, steak, even vegetarian. And if you happen to pop into Candela between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., drinks are two-for-one. When it’s all said and done, you and a date will probably spend less than $20.
