It's midnight and you have a rumbling in your stomach. Sure there's always the Wendy's drive thru (lame!). But if you're looking for a meal that hasn't been processed a billion times over, here are a few places you might want to check out.
Killer Shrimp: The name may sound like the title of a B-horror movie from the 70s – Attack of the Killer Shrimp! – but it's also the best item on the menu. The “Killer Shrimp” in question is simmered for 10 hours, creating a flavorful broth with a spicy kick. Add some fresh shrimp and French bread for dunking and voila – you've just had one of the best late night meals of your life. They also have a creamy lobster mac n' cheese that tastes every bit as delicious as it sounds. Killer Shrimp is open until midnight, seven days a week. Their full menu is available on their website.

Pizzarito: New York-style pizza by the slice until 2 a.m. – has the English language ever sounded as… delicious? Although it's been located in Marina del Rey for years, Pizzarito has somehow mastered the paper thin crispy crust of an authentic N.Y.C. slice. And for only $3, you just can't beat it late at night. Not in the mood for pizza? Pizzarito is also serving up hot pasta dishes like manicotti and lasagna, as well as stromboli, calzones, and a meatball sub made on fresh Italian bread.

Glow: Why the name? Walk into Glow, located in the Marina del Rey Marriott, and you'll immediately be bombarded with all types of gooey yellow, orange and red lights – kind of like the sun drenched beaches of Southern California. As far as food goes, Glow keeps it fairly simple with sandwiches, burgers and appetizers. If you really want to try something different, go with the warm fudge brownie for $9. It comes topped with vanilla ice cream, walnuts and caramel.

Baja Cantina: Tacos may very well be the most perfect meal late at night (unless, of course, they're from a place that begins with Del or ends in Bell). They're small, easy to eat, and come with the two ingredients humans have survived on since the days of the cavemen – cheese and meat. So when it comes to delicious late night tacos in Marina del Rey, you can't go wrong with Baja Cantina. Plus, all their entrees come with a free side of warm chips and their homemade Oaxacan salsas. Baja Cantina is open until 2 a.m., seven days a week.

Jerry's Famous Deli: Jerry's in Marina del Rey is known for its enormous pastrami sandwiches. They come loaded with meat and are served with a fat pickle on the side, just like they do in New York City. Not a fan of pastrami? Well you're also in luck because whether you're in the mood for chicken fajitas, pizza, matzo ball soup, or birthday cake, odds are it's on the menu. Jerry's in Marina del Rey is open until 2 a.m. on the weekends.

El Torito : What makes El Torito such a great spot late at night? Well for one their food is really good; and two, it’s also cheap. For $11.99 you can choose a starter, like their homemade tortilla soup, along with an entrée and dessert, and still have enough cash left over to try one of their gigantic margaritas. El Torito also has a variety of different “street tacos,” made with pork, shrimp, chicken, and carnitas, even halibut! Check out the website for a full menu of all their other great food options. El Torito is open until 11:30 p.m.
