A Spectacular 40th Anniversary American Music Awards show was presented Sunday night at the Nokia theater LA LIVE which featured a star-studded lineup of presenters and performers.
Winning big was Justin Bieber,who received ARTIST OF THE YEAR,FAVORITE MALE ARTIST - POP/ROCK, and FAVORITE ALBUM - POP/ROCK Justin Bieber / "Believe".
Bieber thanked his fans, "This is for the haters who thought maybe I was only here for one or two years, but I feel like I'm going to be here for a very long time."
Justin Bieber took home three awards, Nicki Minaj won two,RAP-HIP HOP ALBUM PINK FRIDAY, and ROMAN RELOADED, and Linkin Park, Carrie Underwood, and Katy Perry all won at the 40th Anniversary American Music
The 40th annual show kicked off with none other than Usher, who brought the stage to life performing a medley of "Numb," "Climax," and "Can't Stop, Won't Stop."
Pitbull had one of the sexiest performances of the night. Complete with dancers and lots of lights, the entertainer gave the fans his best side while hoping he might take an award home during the 40th Anniversary of the American Music Awards.
Also presenting a sexy performance was Chris Brown, Swizt Beatz, and Ludacris rocked the house with an electro dance music performance,"Everyday is their birthday" at the Nokia Theatre in honor of the AMAs 40th ceremony.
2012 American Music Awards performers also included Carly Rae Jepsen, The Wanted,Carrie Underwood, Ke$ha ,No Doubt,Taylor Swift,Nicki Minaj, Christina Aguilera, and Pitbull.
Singer Stevie Wonder and Ryan Seacrest paid tribute to 'America's oldest teenager,' the late Dick Clark, at the 40th annual American Music Awards on Nov. 18. Stevie performed a medley of hit songs including "My Cherie Amour," "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" and "Sir Duke,".

The show ended with Korean sensation PSY who closed out the 2012 American Music Awards with a performance of his hit 'Gangnam Style'. He was joined on stage by surprise guest MC Hammer for a special mash-up of 'Gangnam Style' and 'Too Legit To Quit'.
For the first time in AMAs history, 2012 marked the introduction of a new electronic dance music category. David Guetta beat out Calvin Harris and Skrillex to bring home the prize.
