LIVE
The 5th annual Holiday Tree Lighting at L.A. LIVE and grand opening of the LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE. Celebrities, artists and other performers will be part of a one-hour live, holiday celebration to "officially" launch Los Angeles' holiday season. Free to the public, the one-hour event will be broadcast live on NBC4 and will kick-off AEG's Season of Giving - AEG's annual holiday charitable program providing venues and opportunities for local charities, youth organizations, Foundations, schools and non-profit organizations to host programs as part of their fundraising and awareness campaigns. Throughout the month of December, a different charity or non-profit organization will be honored at the skating rink each evening.
New this year, the centerpiece of the event will be Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE's new 66-foot artificial Sequoia tree with more than 120,000 cool white LED mini lights, placed in the center of the ice rink so everyone can skate around it. The evening will also mark the season's first complete lighting of the festive holiday lights displayed along the streets throughout the L.A. LIVE district comprising of more than 75,000 festive holiday lights along the streets that adorn 50 ten-foot angels in addition to more than 265,000 snowfall LED lights covering 150 trees.
This holiday season, the LA Kings Holiday Ice presented by Coca Cola, has expanded to become the largest outdoor ice skating rink in Los Angeles. The 132'' x 80' outdoor ice skating rink located within Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE, is nearly twice as big as in the past and is the perfect holiday outing! The rink will be open November 24 - January 2, weekdays from 5:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. and on weekends from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. General admission skate rentals are $13, Groups of 10 or more people are $10 and Military, Seniors and Kids Under 7 are $6.
