AEROSMITH AT THE STAPLES CENTER
Well, after a two-year stint as a judge on American Idol, Steven Tyler is back to doing what he does best. So what’s that again? Oh right, making music (it’s hard to remember, sometimes). It’s been over a decade since Aerosmith released a full album of new music, and with their latest, Music from Another Dimension!, the boys from Boston make a triumphant return to the hard rockin’, blues-y riffs of their 70s glory days. Tyler and company are currently on a month-long tour to promote the album, and will stop in to the Staples Center on December 3rd. Hard to believe Aerosmith’s been around for 42 years. Even harder to believe Steve Perry and the rest of the band took Tyler back. It’s like, c’mon, American Idol? How un-rock n’ roll is that, dude?!

NAS AND MS. LAURYN HILL AT THE WILTERN
Remember Lauryn Hill? For those who have already forgotten, she was the sole female voice in the widely popular hip-hop trio, the Fugees, before making one of the most celebrated albums of the 90s, 1998's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Hill disappeared from the limelight shortly after the album won a boatload of Grammys, and has since made only rare appearances here and there. Recently, however, Lauryn Hill has been popping up a lot. She hasn’t made an album of new material since Miseducation, but she has been performing. And on December 1st Hill will be on stage with another holdover from the 90s – Nas – as part of the duo’s ongoing Life is Good/Black Rage tour. Hill has had several falling outs with the other members of the Fugees, so anyone expecting Wyclef or Pras to make a special appearance on stage will most likely be disappointed. Unless, of course, they show up in hologram form like Tupac did at this year’s Coachella. Ahhh, technology – is there anything it can’t do?
