After a two-year hiatus, THE BLACK CROWES put tickets on-sale January 11 for the first leg of their "Lay Down With Number 13" 2013 world tour and 15 shows sold out immediately. Now the band has confirmed that they will soon announce shows for a second leg commencing May 17.
Sold-out concerts--encompassing dates in the U.K. March 24-30 and the U.S. April 2-May 4--include two-night stands in London, England, Port Chester, NY, New York City, Washington, DC, Chicago and Nashville, as well as shows in Boston, St. Louis and Atlanta.
THE BLACK CROWES--Chris Robinson (lead vocals, guitar), Rich Robinson (guitar, vocals), Steve Gorman (drums), Sven Pipien (bass), Adam MacDougall and new member Jackie Greene (guitar, vocals)--will reach deep inside their songbook and extensive catalog, performing greatly varied set lists.
Leading into the tour, the band will release the live WISER FOR THE TIME (Silver Arrow/Megaforce Records) on March 19. Its mammoth eight sides on four vinyl albums will contain 26 songs--15 acoustic and 11 electric--from the band's five-night, sold-out NYC performances in the fall of 2010. These never-released-before versions will also be available as a double album digital download.THE BLACK CROWES have sold over 20 million albums and are known as one of rock's best live acts. They have been called "The Most Rock n' Roll Rock 'n' Roll Band In the World" and a "thoroughbred American rock 'n' freakin' roll band"; their panoramic live shows feature alternating set lists and signature incendiary musical explorations.
