The Art of Elysium is holding their fifth GENESIS on September 20, 2013 as the premiere event at the new Siren Studios Cube, a brand new 13,000 sq. ft. smart stage in the heart of Hollywood. Genesis is an event that truly speaks to the heart and soul of The Art of Elysium's mission, a uniquely creative experience that showcases the work of emerging talent within the charity's four main artistic disciplines – art, fashion, music, and theatre/media. The Art of Elysium is dedicated to enriching the lives of not only critically ill children, but also the artistswho volunteer their time. Artists have the unique ability to help children in need find a creative voice and discover a sense of individuality and self-efficacy, even in the midst of overwhelmingly difficult circumstances. In return, those same artists, who have been taken outside of their normal scope of work, are stretched and enriched in ways they never imagined. GENESIS is meant to celebrate the emerging talent within these programs as well as act as a call to arms for the next generation of artists. The Art of Elysium uses GENESIS to celebrate young up-and-coming artists who want to learn, get involved with and grow with the charity for years to come.
This year's GENESIS is presented by HUDSON Jeans, in association with Siren Studios and additional support by Patrón tequila.
Each year, The Art of Elysium curates an art installation including artists such as Chris Cuseo, DavidaNemeroff, James Georgeopoulos and Gregory Siff. This year's fashion installation will include a denim bar hosted by HUDSON Jeans. Guests will enjoy live musical performances by emerging bands and artists including Incan Abraham and Jenny O along with DJ's Bizzy, Chris Masterson, Chris Kennedy and Brandon Solieau.
Additionally, The Art of Elysium will incorporate art pieces from their children's art showcase Little Pieces of Heaven. This unique public celebration is the only annual event in Los Angeles that showcases the inspiring and touching artistic talents of youth whose lives have been disrupted by serious illness. Each year, The Art of Elysium provides free artistic workshops – led by some of Los Angeles' most talented and fine and performing artists to over 35,000 medically disabled youth. LPOH serves as the culminating event for those workshops. The very special event celebrates the artwork of the children AoE serves, which is properly curated and exhibited and features pieces from over 120 youth. Activities for the children attending the event will also be placed throughout the space as well as a children's denim bar provided by HUDSON Jeans.
