Tarzana, Ca - September 21st, 2013 - Curated by The Valley Print Studio, the San
Fernando Valley shows off its experienced and talented printmakers while introducing
the power of print making and demystifying the intimidation of what printmaking is to
artists and the general public during this ONE DAY, POP-UP EVENT. San fernando
Valley printmakers will be transforming a bare, commercial space into a printmaker's
studio and gallery.
Demonstration: Zeina Baltagi and Anna Leon, experienced printmakers, will be demonstrating the process of Intaglio and Relief printmaking live for the public. Products of the demo will be distributed to the public free of charge.
Exhibition: Over 25 San Fernando Valley and beyond fine art printmakers will be exhibiting original works along with a collection of Zines, self published magazines made from original artwork, which will be on display and for sale. Zine artists include Sleep Talk Press, Dustin Nathaniel Garcia Comics and REFLEKT Mag.
The Valley Print Studio was founded by Zeina Baltagi and Miles Lewis, recent California State University Northridge graduates and San Fernando Valley art educators, with the mission of creating a community space which adapts traditional crafts to contemporary image making while offering print education at all levels. The San Fernando Valley's first community based location for printmakers.
