This year LA.COM had the privilege to be backstage in the Emmy's press room, where the winners answer questions after they walk off stage.
LA.COM felt for all the Breaking Bad fans-- we were rooting alongside them as the winner for Lead Actor (Spoiler Alert! Not Byran Cranston) was announced. Everyone in the media room was shocked with this year's pick, but we still congratulate Jeff Daniels for his win.
While at the Emmy's, LA.com was THRILLED to have the opportunity to congratulate the cast of BREAKING BAD for their well deserved 2013 Emmy Award for "Best Drama Series."
LA.COM had the chance to ask the cast of the "Breaking Bad", including creator Vince Gilligan,
If they thought BREAKING BAD would go down as the 21st century Scarface.
It was a collective answer, followed by laughter "Oh we're going down, we're going down."
Vince Gilligan followed by adding, "You know what,'Scarface' was definitely an absolute classic of it's time,as was the original Scarface thirty years before that 1982, forty ,fifty years before, 1952 version, I would like to think that we would be remembered on some level and just so glad to be a part of this group of people."
Although Bryan Cranston lost out to The Newsroom's Jeff Daniels, our pick for Lead Actor was more humble about the Emmy decision and went on to say, "This is an answer to a wish and a prayer of mine. I have been blessed in the past and his show has been nominated in the past, but what I really wanted was what we got. To celebrate the entire writing crew and cast. This is for all the crew who have worked so hard each year. This is the culmination of everything, right now at this time, this is one hell of a party. I'm so excited to be a part of this and what a way to go out."
