MORE INFO:   Children's Bureau: Children's Bureau believes that children deserve to grow up safe, nurtured and healthy. Children's Bureau has been saving children's lives with innovative and cutting edge child welfare programs for 109 years. The organization focuses efforts on preventing child abuse and neglect and treating children who have suffered.  Experts agree that child abuse and neglect are the root cause of many social ills including poverty, violence, isolation and illiteracy. The best way to address this issue is by investing in the early years to prevent abuse in the first place.  Ninety-two percent of the families served by Children's Bureau live at or below the poverty level causing enormous stress and uncertainty and putting them at risk.

Children's Bureau has earned a highly regarded reputation, having been awarded numerous contracts and grants to implement county programs designed to protect vulnerable children and enhance their lives. In addition, the organization has developed and implemented programs designed to meet the needs of the fragile families they serve. With an operating budget of $31 million, actively involved boards of directors and trustees, and experienced staff, Children's Bureau has the demonstrated depth of capacity, experience, relationships and leadership to move to the next level in prevention. This year the prevention and treatment programs will positively affect the lives of more than 28,000 children and parents in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Season of Giving: Now in its fifth year, AEG's Season of Giving is the company's annual initiative designed to raise funds and generate awareness for non-profit organizations that serve youth and families residing in low income households in Los Angeles County. During the month of December, a different non-profit organization will be highlighted during a brief program at the Los Angeles Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE each evening.
