Hey ya! André 3000 and Big Boi are getting back together to headline this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festivals along with Muse and Arcade Fire, officials announced Wednesday.
The confirmation of the long awaited hip-hop reunion, as well as the news that acts from Arcade Fire (David Bowie guest appearance rumors can start now) to Beck and Lorde, comes after months of rumors spurred by “leaked news” and cleverly dropped hints via social media by Goldenvoice, promoters of the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals.
Goldenvoice, as @Coachella on Instagram, had just posted a photo of an ace card with a Motörhead logo on it — yes, the ‘80s English metal rock band — the day before posting that the lineup has been announced Wednesday. And sure enough, Motörhead will be joining Arcade Fire, Lana Del Rey, Little Dragons and more on the closing nights of the festivals set for April 13 and April 20.
Coachella is slated for April 11-13 and April 18-20 at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, just more than 20 miles east of the desert resort city of Palm Springs.
Festival passes for both weekends go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at coachella.com.
General admission festival passes for Weekend 1 must be purchased as a shuttle combination while all pass types are available for Weekend 2.
The Weekend 1 combo package costs $435. General admission tickets cost $375.
Layaway is no longer an option for either weekend, officials said.
Expect more announcements and clues over the coming months as set times should be coming out and more.
