VH1 Classic's stars Eddie Trunk from"That Metal Show" hosted The Golden God Awards at the Club Nokia Wednesday night with plenty of rockers and presenters to represent Metal Music as it should be.

Marilyn Manson kicked off the Golden Gods Awards show with a surprise performance by the band Slayer, who played a their new tune 'Implode'.  Slayer killed it, showing time has not slowed these thrashers down one bit.

Some of the presenters included Alice Cooper, Linkin Park, Chuck Billy and Scott Ian, Frankie Palmerie, and Andrew Dice Clay.

Next up on the stage the band, "Suicide Silence" played "Roots Bloody Roots" with original Sepultura front man Max Cavalera, they sounded good for the most part trying to rile up the rather mild crowd

Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless was surprisingly awesome as a female metal singer and the  powerful voice  to back it up. Momsen did her own set then joined up with Joan Jett later to sing with her and the Black hearts

Zakk Wylde did a sweet tribute on piano to our fallen rockers on piano, remembered were many that contributed to music world and not just in the Metal genre.

In honor of the late guitarist Dime Bag Darrell ,the first ever "Dime Bag Darrell Best Guitarist Award," was presented at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in memory of the much loved musician. Premièring this evening also was Alice Cooper's exclusive, never-before-seen 2-minute extended trailer for the upcoming ALICE COOPER “doc-opera”, Super Duper Alice Cooper, which will be playing in local theatres on beginning April 30.

Joan Jett was the recipient of the first female Golden God Award, she was given her award by Alice Cooper and then she proceeded to put on a rocking performance with the Blackhearts proving her METAL as queen of the Sunset Strip. Joining Jett on the song, "Hate myself for loving you" was Taylor Momsen from The Pretty Reckless ZZ Top's own Billy Gibbons made an appearance too.

The Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award went to Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, Axl Rose accepted his award from Nic Cage and he thanked all the Guns N' Roses, lineups in a brief speech.

Guns And Roses performed an 8 song set with Gnr. Duff McKagan who filled in for Tommy Stinson. Guns and Roses new line-up sounded good and made Axl's voice sound even better.

Overall it was a huge thrill to hear some of the top metal bands from back in the day.
