Rapper-actor Ludacris will host the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.
The show will air live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, dick clark productions announced Wednesday.
Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, and Lorde will perform. Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood will debut their country duet on the show as well, which begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
Lorde and Imagine Dragons are the top contenders, competing in 12 categories. Imagine Dragons will battle Cyrus, Perry, Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake, who is nominated for 11 awards, for top artist.
Timberlake's “The 20/20 Experience” will compete against efforts from Beyonce, Eminem, Drake and Luke Bryan for top Billboard 200 album.
Taking home the top award of the night is Jennifer Lopez, who is set to receive the Icon Award, the show's award recognizing lifetime achievement. She is the first woman to receive the award and only the fourth artist — Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince are past recipients.
Lopez is set to perform solo with “First Love,” but she will also join Pitbull on stage to premiere their song “We Are One,” the official anthem for FIFA Wold Cup.
