LOS ANGELES (August 14, 2014) - L.A. LIVE announces the first-ever Downtown Dark Nights, a local community celebration for the people that live and work in Downtown Los Angeles.   The “Happy Hour” style celebration will take place on Friday, August 22nd from 5:00pm and go late into the evening.

Participating L.A. LIVE restaurants will be offering $5 food and drink menus all night long and will feature live entertainment throughout L.A. LIVE with local street performers, musicians, artists, dance groups, DJ’s and more.  Plus, Team LA will have a huge sale featuring 40% off most items.

“This will be a great place for our downtown neighbors to unwind from the work week and kick off the weekend” said Lee Zeidman, President of STAPLES Center, Nokia Theatre and L.A. LIVE. “The inaugural date of Friday, August 22nd was specifically chosen because there are no other major events scheduled at L.A. LIVE including STAPLES Center, Nokia Theatre and Club Nokia (a “dark night” at L.A. LIVE),” Zeidman added. “This makes it a perfect night to easily come to our L.A. LIVE restaurants with little traffic or congestion”. Additional Dark Nights will be announced at a later date.

L.A. LIVE Downtown Dark Nights will also offer $5 parking in the West Garage via Gate B, with free parking available for Downtown Preferred Loyalty members. For membership details please visit lalive.com/preferred.  In addition, a free bike valet will be available for all cyclists.

Participating L.A. LIVE restaurants include Katsuya, Rock‘N Fish, The Farm of Beverly Hills, Lucky Strike Lanes, Red Mango, Rosa Mexicano, Tom’s Urban, Lawry’s Carvery, Smashburger and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.
