The Los Angeles County Fair has begun... let's eat!

This year's highlights include Ramen Burger and from Chicken Charlie's, a triple-decker Krispy Kreme cheeseburger, Totally Fried Doritos and Totally Fried chicken skins.

Also, food trucks are back on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The fair, open Wednesday through Sunday, runs through Sept. 28.

Speaking of food trucks, fans (and their canine companions) will want to head to Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park in Ontario on Saturday. The county is hosting a Doggie Pool-ooza and food truck event from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the park, 800 N. Archibald Ave.

It's the park's second food truck event in less than a month.

Scheduled food trucks include Baby's Badass Burgers, the Bakery Truck, the California Grill Truck, Cousins Maine Lobster, Rolling Sushi Van and Snowie California.

Admission is $5 per person and $1 per dog.

In restaurant news, the number of Inland Empire Jersey Mike's Subs grew by one this week. The new location opened Wednesday in Menifee.

The site is celebrating its grand opening with a fundraiser for Callie Kirkpatrick Elementary School.

A total of 7,000 coupons were distributed locally, offering a free regular sub with the purchase of a regular sub and a $2 or more donation to the school. The coupons are valid through Sunday.

The new Jersey Mike's is at 27774 Newport Road.

Coming soon to Upland is Wing Stop.

The chicken wings and fries restaurant is moving in to a spot that was formerly a Togo's (twice) and a Rockin' Robin's, according to reader Carl, who usually keeps us apprised of restaurant changes in Upland.

The future Wing Stop is at 110 S. Mountain Ave., Suite B.
