INDIO >> Atlanta hip-hop stars OutKast reunited at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Friday night but the set wasn’t completely smooth as the group was cut off from performing a last song with Killer Mike.
The group apparently ran late as they started at 11:30 p.m. but when 1 a.m. rolled around the group was cut off when hip-hop artist Killer Mike hit the stage to perform.
But the group was able to thank the fans despite the sound being cut for Mike’s performance because their microphones were turned back on. The crowd started booing when the microphones were cut off and continued to boo after they came back on.
During the set itself, Outkast had guests including singers Sleepy Brown and Janelle Monae as well as hip-hop and R & B artist Future and went through their catalogue of hits except for 1994’s hit “Player’s Ball.”
The group saved its biggest hits for the end of set as they performed “So Fresh, So Clean,” “The Way You Move” and “Hey Ya!” to loud cheers.
