Legendary London heavy metal band Motörhead, with special guest Slash, got the devil horns approval of fans on Sunday at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
Front man Lemmy Kilmister introduced Slash on Sunday night as “a friend of ours, a friend of yours” as the famed guitarist walked on stage with his signature black top hat and long hair.
Slash, formerly of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, immediately jumped into “Ace of Spades” with the band to a loud roar.
He stayed on for an extra song before they took a group bow to cheers inside the Mojave Tent.
Earlier in the set, Kilmister asked the fans if they “wanted an older one or a newer one” and decided for them it would be “Over The Top.”
Before playing 1998's “Just ‘Cos You Got the Power,” he dedicated it to “politicians taking our (expletive) money.”
They played “Lost Woman Blues” from their lastest 2013 album “Aftershock” and “Doctor Rock” from “Orgasmatron” which featured a crazy drum solo from Mikkey Dee.
Chris Lineberger, 29, of Palm Desert said he enjoyed the set, particularly Slash's appearance.
“Slash came out and played a killer ‘Ace of Spades,'” Lineberger said.
